Hello! I’m Jennavieve—but you can call me JV!
Hailing from the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado, my love for volleyball has been a lifelong journey that shows no signs of stopping. I’ve been playing since I was eleven years old, and over a decade later, the passion burns brighter than ever. As a young athlete, I explored various sports, but volleyball is where I found my true home. The game has taken me from coast to coast—starting at Colorado Northwestern College in Rangely before transferring to Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where I earned my degree in Hospitality Management.
My background in hospitality deeply influences my coaching style. I believe in creating a welcoming and supportive environment where every athlete feels valued, and their unique strengths can elevate the entire team. A pivotal moment in my journey was overcoming a severe ACL and double meniscus injury. The recovery was challenging, with no guarantee I’d return to the court. Yet, through resilience and determination, I not only made a full recovery but continued to compete at a high level. This experience taught me the importance of mental toughness and the power of perseverance—qualities I strive to instill in my players.
After playing three collegiate seasons, my passion for volleyball didn’t stop there. I dedicated myself to building up the volleyball community wherever I could—coaching for multiple years at Denver Parks and Recreation, leading teams at highly competitive volleyball clubs, and now coaching at Vegas Volley, the premier destination for volleyball in the Las Vegas and Henderson area.
I’m committed to empowering the next generation of athletes and instilling in them the same passion for volleyball that continues to inspire me and uplift others. I emphasize a team-first mentality, knowing that individual talents truly shine when the whole team stands strong together. Parents can trust that their children are in great hands, learning not just the skills of the game but also the values of resilience and teamwork. And who knows? Maybe I’ll even inspire a few adults to pick up the game and join in the fun!
